Information: Elizabeth joined SPC as a National Fisheries Scientist in 2020. Prior to joining SPC, Liz worked as the Principal Analyst and Manager of Advanced Analytics, in the Centre of Advance Analytics and Economics, in New South Wales, Australia. She has worked on fisheries and coastal-resource management programs in Australia, south-east Asia and the Pacific, and specializes in statistical, policy, and economic analysis relevant to the management of fisheries and other natural resources.

Elizabeth gained her PhD from the University of NSW in 2009, with research focussed on the ecology and behaviour of pelagic fish in coastal waters. Elizabeth's recent work has been inter-disciplinary in nature, focussing on the relationship between natural resource management, economic livelihoods, and community wellbeing. She brings a range of economic skills to her role at SPC, including non-market valuation, ecosystem accounting, productivity and efficiency techniques, choice modelling, bio-economic modelling, and cost-benefit analysis.
