Information: Matthew joined the Oceanic Fisheries Programme as a stock assessment scientist in March 2018. He leads and supports stock assessments for tropical tunas in the western and central Pacific Ocean. Matthew also conducts research into improving the application of tag-recapture data in stock assessments. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in both marine science and biology from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Science in fisheries science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). In 2017 Matthew completed his PhD in fisheries science at Michigan State University studying tag-integrated catch-at-age models for Lake Erie walleye (Sander vitreus).
