Ecological Risk Assessment
Tuesday, 14 April 2009 11:41

ERA is a practical way for SPC members to meet their obligations towards non-target species. OFP has most recently been applying Productivity-Susceptibility Analyses to assess the relative risk imposed by fishing to all highly migratory species in the WCPO.  This work is now focusing upon sharks (link to SAM), seabirds and turtles.  The Bycatch Mitigation Information System (add link) has been developed to help SPC and WCPFC members with easy access to current conservation and management measures and mitigation methods.
